THE SECOND ANNUAL LA GRANDE FARMERS MARKET SALSA CONTEST!!

SATURDAY, AUGUST 25TH SALSA TASTING 9:00-11:00 ANNOUNCEMENT OF WINNER AT 11:30 ENTER TO WIN!!

WHERE: Max Square, at La Grande Farmers Market

WHEN: Entries will be accepted between 8:00 and 9:00

HOW:

  •  Bring 1 quart of your salsa in a sealable container such as a ball or mason jar or a “Zip lock” type container with a sealable lid.
  •  Samples of salsa will be tasted and judged, therefore for food safety reasons, all salsa must be made fresh on the day of competition All entries will be kept on ice until judging time
  •  Limit of 2 salsa entries per contestant, please.
  •  Judging runs from 9:00- 11:00. Winners announced at 11:30.
  •  We will have 2 winners! Judges choice and people’s choice: the salsa with the most votes wins!
  • To judge, folks will pay $2 for a bowl of chips and a voting card.
  •  NO DOUBLE DIPPING!
  •  Collect your belongings between noon and 1:00pm.
  •  Winners will receive a $50 farmers market gift certificate + a market hat!

WHERE: Max Square, at La Grande Farmers Market

WHEN: Bring your home-baked pie to the market!

HOW: Bring your home-baked pie to the market!

  • Entries will be accepted between 8:00 and 9:00
  •  Bakers must use at least one local ingredient
  •  Winners must be willing to provide a recipe for the LGFM website
  •  Limit of 2 pie entries per contestant, please.
  •  Judging runs from 9:00- 11:00. Winners announced at 11:30.
  •  We will have 2 winners! Judges choice and people’s choice: the pie with the most votes wins!

To judge, folks will pay $5 for a plate, fork and a voting card. all proceeds go to the La Grande Farmers Market. 

 Collect your belongings between noon and 1:00 pm.

Winners will receive a $50 farmers market gift certificate + a market hat or a market t-shirt!!!

What's better than the La Grande Farmers Market?

When there is local beer!

Come on down to the 4th Tuesday at the Market!
Help us celebrate the Farmers Market with beer, music, food, and games! Stop by the beer garden buy a beer and grab a tasty bit of BBQ or a fresh gyro listen to some fun music under our new shade awning! Do you want to meet some new friends? if Beer is not your thing? That's okay, Mamacitas International Grill Has fresh margaritas and smoothies on their patio. We have cribbage games open to all in Max Square at 5 pm, bring your cribbage boards and cards and enjoy an evening at the market!

Beer Choir will be singing at the market from 5-6 so raise your glass in song at the La Grande Farmers Market!

Beer and growler fill station will be by Side A Brewing.

Fresh smoothies and margaritas by Mamacitas International Grill

BBQ and local meats by Hines Meat Co.

Fresh Greek-inspired gyros by Yia Yia Nikkis

Farm to Fork Fundraiser Brunch

The brunch will be a fun, colorful, all local summer meal featuring the products of the Markets farmers, bakers, and artisans and prepared by Chef Merlyn Baker.  The brunch will in the middle of The La Grande Farmers Market on 4th Street! Come on down bring a friend and enjoy the best that the market has to offer!

When: Saturday July 7th, 9 am-noon

Where: La Grande Farmers Market, Max Square on Adams and 4th St.

Why: Because we love our Market!

OPENING DAY 2018!

Join us for the Opening Day of another spectacular season of La Grande Farmers Market!

We have a fun season lined up for you this year with music at all our markets, and fabulous special events.  Along with our Farm to Fork Brunch (July 7th), Kid Day ( September 22nd) and the Salsa Festival (August 25th), we will be hosting a Pie day on August 11th and a community Cider Pressing event on October 20th.  Also, be sure to come check out our monthly Beer Gardens on the last Tuesday Market of each month; Shop for farm fresh produce, enjoy great music, AND grab a pint from Side A and a gyro sandwich from Yia Yia Nikkis, all in one stop!

Market Opening Day

Please join us for the start of the 2015 season at the La Grande Farmers Market.

Saturday at the Farmers' Market features fresh, locally grown produce, meat and eggs, baked goods, flowers, and crafts. Enjoy coffee, pastries or a full breakfast while you shop the booths, visit with neighbors and listen to music. The atmosphere is friendly and fun.
