Air Quality Policy

La Grande Farmers Market will continue to implement the Air Quality Policy during each new season! Please read for details…

The market will be open every Saturday and Tuesday as normal unless the air quality reaches levels outlined below. Please read the policy carefully:

If the air quality is projected to reach the "Very Unhealthy" level, the market will be open but will close at 11 AM instead of noon. This level is represented by any number 201 and above on the Air Quality Index. By shortening the market, our customers still have access to healthy food, and our vendors are able to make the income they depend on.

If the air quality is projected to reach the "Hazardous" level, the market will be closed that day. This level is represented by any number 301 and above on the Air Quality Index. Hazardous air levels make it unsafe for all persons to be outside for any period of time.

We will provide our vendors and customers with 48-hour notice. Changes to market operations due to air quality are based on the forecast provided on IQ air. You can keep an eye on the air quality projections using the same resource LGFM uses. The link is included for your convenience below.

We LOVE our vendors!!!

At the La Grande Farmers Market, our vendors are more than just sellers — they’re the lifeblood of our market. Each week, they bring their hard work, creativity, and passion to the corner of 4th and Adams, transforming it into a vibrant hub of local flavor and community connection.

From farmers who rise before dawn to harvest fresh produce, to bakers, artisans, and food makers who pour love into every item they create — our market simply wouldn’t exist without them. Their dedication keeps our community nourished, our downtown lively, and our mission thriving.

When you shop at the market, you’re not just buying local — you’re supporting your neighbors, small family farms, and the spirit of Eastern Oregon. Every smile, every purchase, every “see you next week” helps keep the heart of the La Grande Farmers Market beating strong.

❤️ Thank you to all of our incredible vendors — you are what makes this market truly special.

Start planning to be a part of LGFM for next season! We are always taking applications!

We are so excited to again partner with our vendors in bringing fresh local food, produce, and unique craft items to our community. We would love to help new vendors turn their passion into a small business.

Our vendor application is available to interested vendors! Market season for 2026 will begin in mid-May and it is sure to be a FUN season, and we want you to know that we just LOVE our vendors! Pricing is dependent on what size of booth you want and what day(s) you want to sell on! We offer both Tuesday and Saturday booth pricing! You can simply pay to be a “daily” vendor, where you only pay for the days you choose to sell at the market or you can pay for the whole season up front, which offers AMAZING savings!

Please view our “apply to be a vendor” tab above for more details and to fill out an online application through the Google Form. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to our Market Manager, Candi at 541-805-4572.

Yay for the 2025 Market Season! We are eagerly anticipating the upcoming 2026 season! We can’t wait to see you all there!

Say HELLO to the LGFM Manager!

Here is La Grande Farmers Market’s Market Manager!!

This is LGFM’s manager! Her name is Candi Nielsen, and she started out as a volunteer with the Market and then was the Assistant Manager for several seasons and then she became the manager a couple of years ago. You probably have seen her at the Info booth, handing out tokens, taking questions, helping vendors get settled and being a constant presence at the market.

Candi was raised here locally in beautiful Union, Oregon, where she lived with her family on a small family farm with a vegetable garden, honeybee hives, fruit trees, a greenhouse, chickens, lambs, pigs, horses and many other animals. She spent her childhood learning how to preserve the vegetables and fruit harvested, fixing fences, exploring the woods outside Union, as well as hunting, fishing, foraging for mushrooms and gathering huckleberries with her family. She was an avid horseback rider and was part of her local 4-H club and high school FFA club. She has many fond memories of traveling to La Grande and going with her mom to the Farmers Market and recalls it being what she fondly calls a weekly “pilgrimage” for her family. She continued this same ritual with her own daughters and now continues the tradition with her grandchildren.

Be sure to stop by and say HI to Candi, your friendly LGFM manager!
